What i do
My work is a celebration of the bold, the beautiful, and the unapologetically femme. I am a queer artist rooted in Levantine culture, and through dance, I create spaces where vibrancy, strength, and emotion collide. I want my audience to feel every beat, every movement—whether it’s the catharsis of a defiant, vengeful gesture or the pure joy of losing yourself in a rhythm that is impossible to resist.
Dance, for me, is not just about telling stories—it’s about rewriting the narrative, making space for the queer body to exist freely and joyfully. I embrace my cultural heritage with all its complexities, blending the rich traditions of the Levant with the raw, liberating power of contemporary movement. But it’s more than tradition—it’s pink, it’s bold, and it’s loud, like a dance floor that refuses to be ignored. My choreography doesn’t just invite you to watch—it demands you to participate, to feel the energy of the performance coursing through you.
This work is vengeful in its celebration. It’s a rebellion against the forces that seek to silence, to hide, to suppress. It’s a reclaiming of the spaces that belong to us—those who live outside the expected, the binary, the norm. Through every gesture, every pulse of movement, I express a deep, unapologetic fierceness—a declaration that queer joy, queer love, and queer identity are worth celebrating, loudly and proudly.
I want my audiences to leave my performances with their hearts racing and their bodies buzzing, remembering that dance can be wild, it can be bold, and it can be pink. It's not just art—it's a call to feel, to live, and to dance as if you are the revolution itself.
where I’m going
My ultimate goal as an artist is to create choreography that bridges the personal with the universal, taking my Midwestern roots with me wherever I go and whoever I work with. I aim to choreograph for artists like Saint Levant and Chappell Roan, bringing my unique vision to their music videos and visual albums, while infusing my movement with the authenticity, warmth, and quiet resilience that define my background. Whether working in genres like pop, music video, or horror films, I want my choreography to evoke deep emotion, tell compelling stories, and create a visceral connection with the audience. By combining the grounded, soulful energy of the Midwest with a fresh, forward-thinking approach to movement, I strive to craft experiences that are both personal and universally resonant, always staying true to the spirit of the "Midwestern honeys" that shape my creative identity.

Eastern michigan university
Our Accomplishments
At Fun Girl Dance Co., we are passionate about challenging the boundaries of contemporary dance, collaborating with emerging talent, and exploring new creative territories. One of our most rewarding achievements took place during my time as a Guest Choreographer at Eastern Michigan University for the 2021-2022 academic year, where I had the privilege of working with a talented group of dance majors and creating a piece that pushed both artistic and cultural boundaries.
Guest Choreographer at Eastern Michigan University
2021-2022 Academic Year: Invited as a guest choreographer for the dance department, I had the opportunity to set an original work on eight dance majors, expanding their artistic range and giving them a unique, out-of-the-box experience in choreography and performance.
The piece was set to the music of Debbie Harry, a bisexual icon and sex symbol of the 70s and 80s, providing a fascinating and unconventional foundation for the dancers. The use of Debbie Harry’s music created an edgy, expressive, and bold atmosphere, far beyond the traditional scope of a modern dance program.
Performance & Recognition
The work was selected for the 2022 American College Dance Association (ACDA) Festival in Athens, Ohio, where it was featured in the Adjudicated Concert. This recognition provided the dancers an incredible opportunity to perform on a prestigious national stage, showcasing their growth and the unique nature of the work.
Creative Collaboration & Design
In addition to choreographing, I took on the role of costume designer, collaborating with Martina Petit, my skilled seamstress, to create costumes that enhanced the bold, expressive energy of the piece. The costumes were designed to reflect the era of Debbie Harry, incorporating elements of punk and glamour while allowing for freedom of movement.
Expanding Artistic Horizons
This project was a rare and exciting opportunity for the dancers involved, offering them the chance to perform in a non-traditional piece that integrated music, culture, and movement in a way that was far outside the typical confines of a modern dance program.
The experience challenged the dancers to think critically about performance, history, and identity, while pushing them to explore an intersection of music and dance that was both intellectually stimulating and artistically liberating.
This collaboration was a significant milestone in my career as a choreographer, and I’m proud of the work we created and the opportunities it provided to the talented dancers at Eastern Michigan University.
“strike” music video
Our Accomplishments
At Fun Girl Dance Co., we are passionate about working with artists who challenge norms, create profound art, and amplify important cultural voices. One of the most exciting collaborations in my career was working with Mona Haydar, a talented Syrian-American rapper and poet, on the music video for her powerful song "Strike" from her debut album, Song From The Mothership. This project allowed me to combine my love for costume design with a deeper mission to amplify Mona’s poignant and thought-provoking lyrics.
Collaboration with Mona Haydar
In 2024, I was invited by Mona Haydar to collaborate with her on the creation of a music video for her song "Strike", a track that confronts themes of resistance, empowerment, and identity. The song’s deep social and political themes offered a rich canvas for visual interpretation, and I worked closely with Mona to bring her artistic vision to life through costume design.
Costume Design & Artistic Vision
Mona’s lyrics reflect her experience as a Syrian-American woman, and my role was to create costumes that visually enhanced the song’s narrative while respecting and honoring her cultural identity. The design process involved researching and understanding the symbolism within Mona’s work, ensuring that the costumes would reflect the power, resilience, and complexity of her message.
Collaborating directly with Mona, I integrated elements of traditional Middle Eastern fashion with modern aesthetics, creating a look that was both empowering and visually striking. The costumes became more than just garments — they were key storytelling elements that helped convey the strength and vulnerability expressed in her music.
Professional Experience & Amplifying the Message
This collaboration was an incredible opportunity to provide Mona with a professional, artistic experience that matched the power of her lyrics. It was essential that every aspect of the production — from the costumes to the choreography — helped elevate the song’s message of resistance and social justice.
Throughout the process, Mona and I exchanged ideas and visions, working closely together to create a visual language that was as bold, raw, and impactful as the song itself. We aimed to ensure that the video would not only represent Mona's personal journey but also resonate with a broader audience that could connect with the themes of struggle, empowerment, and transformation.
Impact & Reception
The "Strike" music video was released to critical acclaim, with audiences praising the powerful, emotive visuals that complemented Mona’s lyrics. The video quickly gained traction online and was featured on YouTube.
By the time the video was released, it had already sparked important conversations about identity, resistance, and the experiences of marginalized communities, further cementing Mona’s place as an important voice in the music and activist world.
Looking Forward
Collaborating with Mona Haydar on this project was a deeply rewarding experience. It allowed me to contribute to a meaningful artistic statement while continuing to push the boundaries of costume design in the music video world. I look forward to more opportunities to work with artists who are shaping culture and using their platform to amplify social and political messages.
Orchesis Dance Company
Our Accomplishments
At Fun Girl Dance Co., we are committed to creating work that speaks to the complexities of identity, community, and self-expression. One of the highlights of my recent work was being hired as a Choreographer and Costume Designer for Michigan State University’s Orchesis Dance Company, where I had the opportunity to choreograph for both the 2021 and 2022 Winter Showcases. This collaboration allowed me to create meaningful, dynamic work for talented student dancers while exploring themes of queerness, identity, and community.
Choreographer for Orchesis Dance Company (2021 & 2022 Winter Showcases)
In 2021, I was invited to choreograph for a cast of 11 dancers. For this piece, I focused on themes of Midwestern queerness, creating a work that reflected the complexities of growing up queer in a region often perceived as conservative. Through movement, I explored both the tension and liberation inherent in this experience, while providing the dancers an opportunity to express vulnerability, strength, and identity in a supportive, artistic environment.
In 2022, I was asked to choreograph the show closer for the entire company of 55 dancers, a monumental task that required creating a piece that could embody both the collective energy of the group and the unique voices of each dancer. The piece was designed to leave a lasting impression, bringing the showcase to an emotionally resonant and high-energy close.
Costume Design & Sound Editing
As part of my choreographic role, I took on costume design for both pieces, ensuring that the visual elements of the performance enhanced the thematic and emotional content of the work. For the 2021 piece on Midwestern queerness, the costumes reflected a blend of urban and rural influences, subtly underscoring the piece's exploration of personal and cultural identity. The costumes for the 2022 show closer were designed to be bold and dynamic, helping to elevate the energy and intensity of the large ensemble piece.
In addition to choreography and design, I also contributed sound editing for both works, carefully curating music and soundscapes that complemented the themes of each piece. The sound for the 2021 piece was intentionally layered to evoke a sense of both isolation and unity, while the 2022 closer featured an energetic, powerful soundtrack that helped to amplify the celebratory atmosphere of the finale.
Impact & Reception
Both pieces were received with enthusiasm from both the dancers and the audience, with many praising the emotional depth and creativity of the choreography and the overall cohesion of the production. The 2021 piece was noted for its poignant exploration of queerness and identity, while the 2022 show closer received recognition for its high energy and the skillful integration of so many dancers into a unified, impactful performance.
The opportunity to work with such talented dancers and provide them with a platform to explore complex themes was a rewarding experience. It also allowed me to connect with a new generation of dancers and engage with their personal journeys through movement.
Looking Ahead
These two showcases were an incredibly rewarding opportunity that allowed me to contribute to the artistic development of the Orchesis Dance Company while creating work that was both deeply personal and highly collaborative. I look forward to continuing to create work that resonates with students, audiences, and communities, pushing the boundaries of what dance can communicate about identity, culture, and human experience.
